Step 1c: IDEAS for the Power of Green Buildings

We all need power in the infrastructure we live in or work from, but creating as little impact while generating that power is lost in today's American society.  How do we build green?  How do we power a building without running miles of wire? Without having to cut down trees for the telephone poles? Without drilling for oil or burning too much firewood to stay warm?  Less impact should be the focus....

Passive Solar Ideas (no, not solar panels).... The simple way to think about Passive Solar is; more windows, more light!!  More sun coming in through the windows, more heat...then you can trap the heat or release it as you please...if you can design it right...

We are going to need alot of windows....and the angle of the building is important...

The more windows the better....

How they trap the hot air and release it.......

Angles are everything, I'm going to need to camp on the property to make sure where the sun rises and sets before I start building.

A change in seasonal sun angles is the result of the earth’s tilt remaining constant as it rotates around the sun. In December, the southern hemisphere is more exposed to the sun as the south pole is tilted towards the sun, hence our summer. In June, the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun resulting in our winter. The further away one is from the equator, the more the difference is between the summer and winter sun angles. -(Passive Solar for Timber Buildings)

How do we run electricity??

Windturbine? Solar panels?  How much current do we really need to generate???  Still thinking....
